I recently got my hardware for my ZT 0392purblkwc done a very vibrant purple. The issue is that it looked fantastic when I first got it but after I handled it a bit it looks all dull and faded from fingerprints. How can I keep it looking new and vibrant?

Windex every time you touch it...or don't touch it, it's just the nature of Ti anodizing.

It happens because Ti doesn't actually change color when anodized, a clear oxide layer is built which refracts a different wavelength depending on the thickness resulting in it appearing to be colored. The oil in your fingerprints dulls the effect. That's also why it's almost impossible to get decent pics without full spectrum lighting.

Yup :(. It is worst on high polish finishes (which also give you the most vibrant colors), but even beadblast finish anodized Ti darkens with fingerprints a bit (but the fingerprints themselves are less noticeable).

Yep mine are pretty polished and now it looks damn near the way I sent it in lol

I feel your pain...
I ordered a purple anodized knife; and it barely looked purple when it arrived new. I literally unpacked it and set it aside because I was disappointed with the color; and even scrubbing it with Windex hasn't helped.
At this point, I'm either going to get rid of it or have it Cerakoted...probably the former, because I'm soured enough on it that I don't want to spend more money on it (it was not an inexpensive knife).

Yeah I know how that feels, this is my absolute grail knife and now I cant really use it without it looking all faded.
