I use my blade at work alot. I often cut boxes open and my blade gets tape on it and its annoying and leaves this residue marking. Does anybody else have this issue? What do you use to clean it?

I don't really clean my work knives... I have a separate one for that... my carry knife I don't cut stuff with... but to remove tape residue i'd use some wd-40

What about that nevr dull wadding polish? I seen somewhere on forums that people said it cleans the blade well

This is gunna sound really weird... but the oils from your face work really well. If you wipe your forehead off, the tape residue comes right off...

JDavis talks about it in one of his videos.

I just rub it off with my fingers from the spine side so I don't cut myself and then get the last bit with a papertowel with Rem Oil or whatever oil I have on hand to prevent blade corrosion from the salt in body oils and sweat.

WD-40 and Goo-Gone are good for getting adhesive residue off the blade. Nevr-Dull is good for getting all the metal residue and stuff off the DLC coating (like if you cut a tin can in half with a coated blade).

I was having trouble with the sticky stuff from packaging tape. Acetone, rubbing alcohol, soap and hot water didn't work.

I finally tried to get it off using newspaper and that worked very well. I used the paper as a wipe.

Be real careful not to cut yourself.

Oil from your nose, WD-40, lighter fluid, etc. all work very well, but it's still a pain when you know that the blade is just going to get gunked up again the next time you open a package, which could be five minutes afterward. So, I suggest getting one of these (the cheaper the better):
