As I was looking for a new container to keep my accumulation of pocket knives in, I saw an unused prescription bottle sitting on the counter. I said to myself, self I wonder if they are water proof and air tight? So i filled it half full of water, turned it upside down and let it sit for a few hours and no drips. I made sure it was completely dry and shook the hell out of it, no drips. Then I dried it out real good a put a piece of bread inside and left it for two days on window sill, bread was still fresh. So, we have a number of empty bottles due to my wife being on pain medication and I figured why not use them to keep my pocket knives in. Any one else do this with successful results?

Watertight = trapped in moisture.

Better to have the knives just laying on a countertop, IMO.

I think it's kind of novel if you get the right bottles.

I wouldn't worry a lot about moisture accumulation unless you're in the swamp. I don't recall seeing many pill bottles cloud up with moisture. Probably best if you put a few holes in the top though, especially for long term.

If it works out for you post some pics.....
