As I posted in my other thread I am now the proud owner of a new buck 112, I think it's a hollow grind, and I haven't had one of thosein a long time, was wondering how yo all maintain you r edge and when the time come what tools and techniques you use to sharpen tham up?? also any thing anyone can reccomend to increase the longevity of the knife would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

the knife with just basic care {occasional oiling and a wipe}will probably outlast you by at least 20 years. As far as sharpening i go with one of 2 ways.
1. crock sticks- during my lazy periods
2. free hand with a bench stone and oil.
whichever you like just don't switch back and forth. good luck you've got a dandy, ahgar

Hey Riley:D

I just keep up my bucks with a strop, it works for me. If there really messed then I used a DMT rod.
