I was close to pulling the trigger on a custom loveless design but came across this Keith Murr. I would have ordered this last month from A. G. Russell but they were out of stock. I love the knife and styling but only wish it was mirror polished. It may end up being a daily user, in which case the satin finish might be better. What is everyone's opinions on Murr knives and how do you like this particular model?

Looks like a nice knife and I love the design, just right for a good deer knife but I am not sure I would like D2 steel in a hunting knife.Up front,I never owned a D2 knife but aren't they harder to sharpen if you need to out in the field? And at $245 big bucks,I think there maybe better options,as far as saving a little money, that is.One more thing, for me,that kydex plastic thingy would have to go.I hate that hitech garbage. Give me good old leather.Still though, that is one heck of good looking knife and well thought out, usable hunting design.

Nice looking piece, thought it was a krein at first.
Make sure you are comfortable sharpening and caring for d2.
Some custom makers run it hard and it might be a bear to touch up if you arent used to them big ugly carbides.
Good luck searching, maybe a less expensive knife off the custom makers forum here might serve you better at less cost.
If you are set on spending that much there will be some wild options, all ready to go.

Looks like it was designed to do a good job and comfortable, meant for business.

Nice looking. Be sure dimensions, including handle thickness, are small enough for pocket carry.

Keith Murr studied with Bob Dozier for a time, so quality should be good, as well as HRC. Old thread, but FWIW...
Thanks, Neal70
