I have a dandy little Keith Murr knife in a Kydex horizontal belt sheath I bought from him at a Dallas gun show around 6 or 7 years ago....anyone know if he has a website or a place to buy his knives?

The best part of the Dallas show story is that I was visiting Dallas didn't have any cash with me. I told him I was going to go find an ATM and he said not to worry about it..he GAVE me the knife and asked me to send him a check. Unbelievable in this day and age.

The knife is marked "MURR 0" (zero). It doesn't specify the steel but it is one sharp knife...

I never heard of him, and if it has not been responded to yet, I doubt anyone else here has heard of him. Try Knifeart.com. They had some of his knives listed a ways back.

You may also want to try www.cuttingedge.com, or email AG Russell to see if he has any information on him. I googled "Keith Murr" and came up with the afore mentioned knifeart hit, they have a page and picture about him and the cuttingedge reference. that is all I could fine on him. I will keep and eye out for you on anything I might find and can ask around at a few local places where guys know more of the local makers than I. I look at some of his work in the archinves of cutting edge and they look great, it sucks for me that I don't know of this man.

Thanks guys,

As I understand it, he worked for Loveless before going out on his own...

Who knows, maybe he'll burst onto the sceen and I'll have an investment on my hands! Meanwhile, it's a great little knife.

I have had one of his knives for about 7 months now. So far it has proven to be a very well made knife with excellent edge holding. I dont know what kind of steel he used when you got yours, but today he says he mainly works with d2.

I never realy intended to get one of his knives. I had gone to a gunshow with plans to pick up a Dozier. I got there late and when I got to Bob's table the selection was down to just a couple of knives that didnt really do it for me. I spent several hours at the show trying to find something that would give me my 'fix'. No luck, so I was on my way out the door. Keith was set up near the exit and I just happened to notice his knives when I glanced over. I messed with them for a while and decided they looked pretty nice. His prices were very good, so I figured I would take a chance and try one out. Fortunately the knife works as good as it looks. Next time around I fully intend to get another one of his knives.

He has an email: murrcustomknives@aol.com

Thanks for the email address SAK, I have sent off inquiries and have invited him to this thread in hopes of getting him a presence on the board.

Hey guys I can help with any questions you may have, I am Keiths son. we have generally tried to stay away from forums but I figured id give this a shot and see if we could get some positive feedback.

I special ordered a hunting knife by Keith through Wilson Tac.. about 2 years ago.. It was a gift to my brother in law, and came out exactly as he hoped.. He has used it many times, and said it preforms very well.. If you happen to get AG Russell's catalogs, you can find a couple of Keith's models for sale there as well... Best, Rich

I live about 10 miles from Keith and have seen many of his knives. They are a very good knife. I have visited with him a few times and he is a great guy.
