G'day all. Not sure if this the right place to post this, but there you go. I have been asked by a few of you to give you a shop tour. I'll let the pics do the talking.

Cheers Keith

Nice Keith, I hope this is a new shop because there is no way your walls should be that clean. You look well organized, it must be a pleasure to come to work when you go to your shop. Gary

Well I have to admit Gary, that I had a major clean out and I even vacuumed the walls! Could be I'm up for a TV crew to do a shoot here. It usually is a bit ? Well I'll call it, homey ( dirty, hot and hard ,Yeah ) And yes mate it is a pleasure to go to the shop every day. I am truly blessed to do what I have a passion for.
Cheers Keith

^^^ THAT is impressive. Spacious, well equipped, and cleaned for guest entertainment purposes. ;)

I'm sure most makers are envious. And right now it's Summer. Damn you. :D

Thanks Keith.

Keith,

Thanks for the look. It's always interesting to see where others work at what you do. :)My shop is nowhere near that clean. I'll sweep mine out about 3-4 times a year and the rest of the time it will have quite a layer of steel dust & scale covering much of it. It's usually quite obvious where I do most of my forging or grinding by the remains of the steel on the floor or walls.

Every time I see another's shop there will be one or two tools that I think, "I should get one of those." You've a couple that I would love having as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Gary

Most excellent my friend!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

As a maker, one of the only things I like seeing more than wicked knife photos.... is SHOP PHOTOS!!! :D

What are the dimensions of your shop? It looks great Keith! Very nice lay-out too... of course the toys are fantastic. :D My lathe is a SuperMax like your mill, and I've been very happy with it. I'm just plain jealous of that beautiful air hammer :foot:

Thank you Keith! :)

Hey Thanks Guys. I must say its not usually that clean. I do like to keep things tidy.
Nick my shop is like a 6 car garage in dimensions. Still looking for more space. There is another room that I did not show, mainly used for storage. I call it the black hole. Things go in there and will never be found again. It scares the bejungas outa me even thinking about cleaning up in there!
I am planning on enclosing the awning out the front of the shop and moving all my grinders in there. Well one day I'll get it done. To busy right now, got a couple of big shows to attend, Blade in June and our first Sydney International knife show in August.
Cheers Keith

Cool, thanks buddy. :)

My shop has a "black hole" right now too... unfortunately it is over half of the shop. ;) :D

Most folks give me a lot of crap for trying to keep my shop "too clean." But the fact of the matter is that it is not a naturally occurring thing, for my shop to be tidy. When I am working, my natural tendencies are to just throw, drop, and shove things here or there.

However, when that happens, I end up spending more time looking for things and more time getting pissed off when I can't find said things.

So everything having a place, and trying to keep it in that place... along with a little sweeping and shop-vac work... makes my shop a much happier place for me to be.

Plus I was told a long time ago that "clean shops produce clean work." Of course that's not absolute... but it's rare to see knives coming from a clean shop that look thrown together. IMHO. :)

BTW- Got my fingers crossed for you on the TV show stuff!!!! That would kick ass Keith!!!  :D

Stay well my friend! :)

Very cool it looks like a nice place to make knives you must of cleaned up just before you taking the pics
