I'm usually lurking in here learning from all of you, but I thought I'd bring up a nice little knife I recently found on the Kellam Knives website. Not sure if any of you have seen these or not, as they may be a very recent offering by the company, but they kind of remind me of the Frosts Mora Clippers etc. Price point seems about right, so I bought a Utility knife Yellow last night. As far as I have read, Kellam is top quality stuff. They also have a Red Utility knife on the main website page, you may want to see. I'm not a real good computer guy so here's an attempt at the link. If this does not work, maybe someone could do it right, I probably won't be on her until tonight again. -Matt-

Oh yeah, last night after I bought the Kellam, I bought a Frosts Clipper Kolstal too! :D I read the post on "cheap knives" and learned that Frosts of Sweden and Frost Cutlery were different companies, so I just HAD to go for it! Thanks again guys! -Matt-

Kellam are nice knives. Great steel, and feel comfortable in the hand. My only problem is that they are expensive. You can go here http://www.ragweedforge.com/AhtiCatalog.html and find them for much less. I think Ahti even makes the knives for Kellam, but could be mistaken.

I didnt read your post very well. I have never tried the "utility grade" Kellams. I bought the Puukko. Great knife, but I ended up selling it.

Matt, the knives in your link look similar to knives made by Ahti in Finland. Ragnar sells one such knife. You can see the knife if you scroll down on this page: http://www.ragweedforge.com/AhtiCatalog.html

Kellam carries a lot of nice, nice stuff, most of which is outside my budget. Usually. I wish they'd carry more knives from Marttiini of Finland. Seems the Marttiini knives I want are only available from European vendors.

Have fun with your Scandis!

Wow! Ragnar's site sure is comprehesive! I saw the knife that is similar to the Kellam and it sure makes you wonder if it isn't the same thing. Base upon what I read about it having a gap where the blade goes into the handle, I'll have to compare and let you know. I've had my eye on the Wolverine model from Kellam for a while now, but you are right, outside the budget, so I opted for the utility knife. I hope it is as good as I think it will be! -Matt-
