Well I am looking for a good knife with a Scandi grind. I want something that holds a great edge with good ergos. So, Kellam or Helle or whoever...what fits the bills best?

Kellam, Helle, Brusletto, J. Marttiini, and H. Roselli all make good knives.
it's hard to go wrong with any of them.

I recently purchased a Helle Fossekallen from Ragweed Forge and I couldn't be happier with it. I went with this particular model because it came with a nice snap-secured sheath. The handle isn't for large hands, but unless you have bear paws it fills the palm really nicely and has an integral guard shaped into it so you won't slide forward and slice yourself. Handle is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful curly birch and the blade is polished like a mirror.

Also, the Helle is by far the sharpest knife I have ever, ever seen, right out of the box with no messing around, bordering on that "scary" type of sharp. I use mine quite frequently for camping chores and related stuff and I've had it, oh, since March of this year and haven't had to hit the sharpening stones yet.

Can't go wrong with a Helle, gorgeous craftsmanship and sub $100 prices.

Both Helle and Kellam make great knives. John of JK Knives is offering a scandi edge on models now also.

Helle and Kellam are both great brands of knives. You may still be able to pick up a Spyderco bushcraft 2nd, great price. Lots of custom makers offer blades with a scandi grind. Check out the Wilderness and Survival Skills section, as well as the Makers For Sale section.

I've got a hankering for a Helle Safari myself. It's so pretty though, I don't know if I'd actually use it.

I've been eyeing a Helle Eggen for a while, but I haven't gone for it yet. It might be my break into the scandi game.
