Kellam Puukko and a pot hanger a la R. Mears

Today I want to make a pot hanger a la Ray Mears. I will use my Kellam Puukko, here whit my Vic Ranger for comparison

This knife doesn’t appeal me too much (don’t know why), but I must admit that it works well. The handle is pretty comfortable, the scandi blade is highly efficient on carving woods.

I've been looking at Kellam puukko's for awhile now. I may have to get one seeing it's handiness.

Alfredo, I have to agree with your points. We Finns are not particularly aesthetic people (not by alongshot when we compeare what comes Italian sense of beauty and aesthetic that is world famous). We're still simple people who make things that work and work well, aesthetics come far second. Puukko works excellent in bushcraft and general chores but most puukkos are not considered beauties. Most puukos seen in this forum however are higher end puukkos and not per-say general user puukkos. Kellam is enbodyment of: form follows function. Some puukko's like Tommi's are very beautiful in their simplistic way. But I quarantee, that Kellam may not a looker but it will not abandon you or fail you in woods as long you will take care of it. Thank you for sharing. I was taught something that I can use in woods now :thumbup:

@thejamppa: for sure the Kellam Puukko is a good worker, it works really well on the woods. He just leave me cold. I guess you Finns have a great eastethic sense, the Finnic design is well know for his simple and beauty lines (i.e. cars, furnitures, phones ecc.). I just bought a Puukko by Kallioniemi, is a custom puukko, just beautiful, and I'm sure it will works great. Let you know.
