kellam trade knives

was looking around the kellam website and came across these

http://www.kellamknives.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_33_83_86

look nice to me, anyone have any experience with them. for that price i guess i wouldn't be out much:)

I don't need another knife right now..... been on kinda a binge latley.... but this one caught my eye: http://www.kellamknives.com/index.p...id=215&zenid=19153da8e2a5b4cee3f75a69e1fcfffa

I also think Ragnar @ Ragweed forge sells trade knives as well. No experience, but for the price you wouldn't be out much as you mentioned.

i've been on a binge too:D but i just keep on finding things.

i am going to get a gransfors bruks tomahawk next week which isn't cheap but they look great and i'm sure the quality is outstanding.

Any idea where/who actually makes these knives? I've seen such styles around, but there is never much mention of that info.

As far as I know, Kellam makes their own knives. I doubt they would out-source these simple, rustic looking knives and make their oun cheap and expensive moras.

I've owned, used, worked, and camped with Kellam knives. Great knives at a good price.

From what I understand (granted that is little) they outsource ALL their knives. If you look at http://www.ragweedforge.com/AhtiCatalog.html Ahti makes knives for Kellam in Finland.

They are still great knives. I used/carried a "Fang" and it was sweet. For the $$$..... I would go with the original though.

I like Kellams. I have "The Wolverine" and "The Puukko." I also have a couple of their "All Purpose Knife" which is actually a Marttiini blade on par with a Mora, but with a slightly better sheath.

what do you think of the wolverine with its special tempering process. i heard reports that it was brittle.
