Well my fellow BHs, I finally got me some fancy leather pants for my BK2. I went with a fine leather worker whom you may know as Psyops. After only 2 weeks to-the-day from when I ordered this sheath, it arrived at my door. I ordered the BK2 Bushcrafter Sheath (basic model, no firesteel loop, dangler, etc.).

What I got was a rock solid, sturdy, handsome beast of a sheath. I love the 2-tone appearance of the leather. It almost has a marbled/patina look to the leather which I think is wicked.

The blade goes in nice and deep with great retention, further assisted by my stippled grips I'm sure. The Leather thickness is generous and is good and stiff. The sheath is also very low profile which I wasn't expecting. It's a slim, strong, attractive package when all put together:

On the body it rides PERFECT! *I'd like to note this* I had told Psyops that I prefered a sheath that would put the very end of the hilt at my belt and no more than an inch above it and that was one of my biggest gripes with kydex, stock sheath mods, etc. The pictures on his web page showed the handles being a bit higher over the belt loop than the one he made for me so I can't help but think that he made this sheath absolutely perfect for me and I am very appreciative. That's a man who pays attention to detail.

I cannot recommend this gentleman enough. He makes a beautiful sheath and it is built like a beautiful tank! To say it's sturdy is an understatement. If you are looking for quality leather that won't break the bank then I'd highly recommend Kelley Customs Leather:

Very nice. That "marble" look is awesome.

Nice sheath! Psyops work is great.
I would recommend his work as well!

At BeckerWest I gave one of his sheaths an 8 hr. Pacific NorthWest weather test!
And by that, I mean I got drunk and left my 16 and sheath on a stump out in the rain all night....
It passed the test just fine. Got a little soggy of course, but it dried out and is just fine!
Keep up the good work Psyop!

Warrior,
I know, right?! B.A.!!!! Thank You.

Jonny,
Thank you sir. I like your 8hr pacific northwest weather test HA! I have to admit that I was suprised at the solid nature and quality of the work. Very nice gear he makes.

Thank you 983. I have been stippling grips on various things for quite some time now. A stippled grip is amazing.

It looks finer than the usual soldering iron technique; how do you do it?

I use a very fine tip soldering iron. I only press the tip to the scale for a split second using quick taps. I make sure that every dimple is touching another so the entire grip is one stippled surface. In the end it has a solid sandpaper type feel to it, without being abrassive or too aggressive.

Damn. That marbling is awesome. I would like to figure out how to pattern like that. Would go great with some oregon maple burl handle scales.

Oh crimson please don't get me going on the wood scales. That's on my short list. I swear I have a problem with dressing up this BK2. I mean I love the stippled grips but could you imagine how amazing some wood scales would look?! Punch me in the face good, that's how good.

Beautiful sheath! The colours are amazing, has a nice aged look that I love with leather.

falcon,
thank you for the link. So I just pick what I want and he makes it for the BK2? It looks like slabs only.

Nathan,
thank you sir. It is awesome.

Lee,
HA! I know, I came home for lunch to see if it came and it did so I threw it on with my work attire. However, you are right, I look dashing with that sheath on.

Cool, thank you for the explanation! Sounds like it takes some skills! Great job!

That's the sheath the BK2 deserves. A great looking rig that will last.

Glad you are happy with it. That tracking number thing had me a bit worried. USPS said it had been delivered the same day I shipped it then no other updates lol.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I try to make the best sheaths I can that are simple hard working and a good value. Kind of like a guy whos knives I like :D
