Kelly Carlson?

Never heard of. . .cool knives though.

You might want to ask Coop. . .seems that he took some of the pic's on the website.

Kelly Carlson will be at Blade '03 (table 24H). Will definitely stop by and fondle the hardware ! :D

Thanks, Gig, for the prompting. :)

Yes, I have handled quite a few of Kelly's knives. They are all very well made and he *really* is paying attention to detail. Tim Herman has praised and helped him on occasion on the CKD forum, and Tim's influence is apparent in his simple and graceful lines. He likes streamlining, as you will see.

Kelly is a part-time maker from NH and is the type of person you would want as a mentor. He shares and is very humble. You can't not like Kelly. (Is that convoluted or what? ;))

Steve Berg from 'The Pen and Sword' has chosen Kelly's knives as a new addition to his *very* top-level custom lineup. That alone says something. (you want a new Lake or Sawby or a Walker? See Steve.)

The folders are worthy. Look him up.

How do you reach Steve Berg? My cursory googling didn't turn up anything.

I just ordered the ironwood Falcon off of Kelly's site.

Steve has no internet presence. :( He is a table dealer at the East Coast high-end shows. Steve and his wife Karen have quite a selection of custom knives. He can be reached at: sb@pensword.com

Gabe,

Congrats. Keep us posted with an honest appraisal once you get it.

Coop

Coop, thanks for the pointer to Mr. Berg. He and I have chatted and he's helping me track down some knives I've been looking for.

I just gone this one from Kelly:

Coop did a great job taking pictures of it, but I was still surprised by what a beautiful knife this is. It's one of those knives where you keep turning it over and over and seeing new details.
