Picked up this 2.5# cruiser on the 'bay a few months ago. It is in real nice shape. Did some work with bastard files to clean up and re-profile the bits (one for limbing and one for felling/cutting). Cleaner her up and then hung her on a 28" double bit cruiser handle from the hickory handle store (no affiliation with them).

Thanks for looking.

Oooh... that's a nice looking head. Always a plus to find one that has been sharpened evenly. Beautiful smooth lines on the haft. Great work! I have a single bit Flint Edge headed my way that would be a great companion that one.

I like that!

I need to hang a cruiser. I've got a couple in the garage and a good haft laying around, too. I just haven't had time for any axe hanging lately. I'll just live vicariously thru Cooperhill. :D

That's nice copper!
I've got one of those in near 'mint' condition. It's a USFS edition with original handle and all :)
It's not a user though. Heck, I guess I should use it.

Cooper , That's a beautiful Kelly cruiser. I just picked one up at an estate sale, last weekend for $2. It is in need of a new handle, but the one on it will work for awhile. The bits on mine have been sharped a little more curved than yours...But I think it can be salvaged. For $2, what do I have to loose.

I just got another nice one yesterday that will be a user.
I'm starting to think I need counciling or an intervention or something :D

Finished up this cruiser this weekend with honing with dmt diafold sharpeners (extra course, course, fine, extra fine) and diapaste 6,3, and 1 micron. You can see this paste being used in the first picture (bottom right).

All finished and soaked in linseed.

Also finished a few hatchets and axes and set them up for linseed soaking. Bath time
