I brought this home last night, a Kelly, Charleston West Virginia, USA.
Hand Forged

I believe it reads:
Kelly Flint Edge
Charleston W. VA. USA
HAND FORGED

My question...has anyone come across or own a Kelly with such a stamp? Hand Forged from the Charleston era?
There may be more to the wordage in the stamp between Kelly and Edge.
Thanks for looking:cool:
If I didn't pass out in front of the fire last night I would have cleaned it up better. Hopefully today I will get to it and a few other goodies that came my way;)

I have a couple the exact same. A connie like yours there, and a 5 3/4 lb double bit.
I'll look for them and add pictures later.
Both mine saw a hard life, and aren't hung.

Thanks that'll be great for a reference. I still need to weigh this one. It has seen some work and some hammering but the bit is not to badly worn for the age that's for sure.

I got pretty lucky with a few connie rescues this time 'round. I will try to put it all together or at least the highlights for a "followed me home" post.
