I received this knife in the mail today.Ken was a real gentleman to deal with, from start to finish. He answered all my questions promptly, and had a few for me,too. From the time I originally talked with Ken,to the time my name came up for my "spot",Ken's presence in the forum provided me with insight on what he could do to make this EDC perfect for me.That helps,so I didn't have to pester him too much, lol, you know how us Knifenuts can be.
About the knife:
These are just my observations on the details of the characteristics of this cool EDC slip.I have not used it yet,I just got 'er in,but I plan on pocketing it daily,as my work knife.
Ken kept it thin,as I asked, but he very nicely managed to give enough taper and contour to give it a real nice feel in the hand.It slips right into your pocket, and disappears, nice and light. He rounded the edges of the scales and bolsters just enough, not for it appear to be rounded, but for a soft feel in your hand.In fact, there is not a sharp corner on this knife, and I like that.
Ken posted the spec's above...His ground finish on the blade was something he told me he only just started doing, perfect timing for me,I like that too.
Perfect spring tension, not a nail buster, not limp, blade centered way better than a lot of custom slips I have or have had,in fact ,dead centered.
It was delivered nice and sharp...The thin flat ground blade appears as it will be a great little cutter,I stropped it a few times, she is hair popping now.
Without going off too bad here any more, this is just one fine knife, you may want to think about getting on Ken's list, you'll be behind me,'cause I told him today,to put me back on,for sure.
Hat's off to Ken Erickson,knifemaker,very obviously a craftsman,great guy,too.
Thank You Ken !
