I am making a few swaybacks up for a forum member and with his permission thought I would post a few pictures.

In my quest to make a better knife I have added a fit and finish feature that may or may not be noticed . I have added a small rotary table that allows me to relieve the inside frames/liners in a much improved fashion. Thanks Tony and Reese for the tutorial on your website!

These knives are 3 5/8
ATS-34
410 milled one piece bolsters/liners
flat ground
standard nail pull
Ken Erickson picked and dyed bone
pinned shields
cut swedges
rattail bolsters (in respect to Charlie):D
pinched bolsters

The knife with the stag may or may not be rescaled. I have also started using a parser plate and two legged parser to install my shields and the stag version is the first attempt. I have to work out the fine points of using a parser. The shield went in nicely on the bone knife using the parser.

Thanks for looking and any comments are more than welcome!

Ken

Glad that the new owner doesn't have to choose between them.

(He'd have to drop two acorns and see which one fell furthest from the tree. ;))

Congrats to maker and owner on a pair of beauties!

Maybe,he should've ordered an Ivory,too.

Ken, I think you should cull that stag one. My address is...... :D

Two super looking folders. Lucky guy. Vince is right, make it a trio.

Very nice!

Man oh man...somebody is really getting some beauties there! Looking really good Ken. Congrats to the new owner...

...the swedging, the bone, the stag, the size, the fit, the finish...man Oh man!!

picked and dyed bone

Rut-ro. . . . .I wish you'ens would stop with the new slippie terms. :D

Awesome "picked and dyed bone !" Rest of the knife is excellent, but I keep going back to the scales !

KEN, Your work is excellent. You are in a class all by your self in Jigging and dyeing your Bone Scales. If there is any thing IMO you could improve upon the knives is not to grind off the bottom pins. The Stag Scaled knife doesn't need to be re-scaled because of the shield. Thanks for showing your work :thumbup::thumbup:

Beautiful knives, Ken! I understand your conundrum; to rescale, or not to rescale??
I wouldn't. I'd make a new knife, and discount this one a small amount, and put a small mark inside the liner. I for one would be pleased to carry that knife, with a small flaw, and save a few bucks on an EDC with bragging rights. I mean picture it:
"Me in my rockin' chair, stinky old dog by my side (not you Tony!!), wife knittin' as far away as possible. (me) 'Yup, Maudey, this worn old knife was the first one Ken Ericson made with a Parser!!' (her) Purser?? I thought he was a knifemaker??' (me) He didn't carry a purse!! He's a Man's man I tell ya!! (her) Shut up Charlie!!"
Maudey's name changed to protect the innocent!

I was ,just this week, talking with a respected forum member about my pin treatment. Finishing the pins ie spinning is something I have been trying to improve and thus try and take my knives to the next level.

Thanks for all the kind comments and suggestions!

GOOD ONE, CHARLIE! TOO FUNNY!
Hey Ken, just scratch "BOP" inside the liner & send it to Texas, please...
GREAT LOOKING KNIVES, KEN! KEEP 'EM COMIN'!
