I'm lovn' that maple, Bill. If Ken doesn't want them I'll take 'um. They are outstanding!!

Those were special ordered for him and his daughter i dont think he will give them up

Nice work Bill! You gotta love those Father Daughter orders!

You would be right, Bill................:D:D:D.

They both look great!!! I see what you mean about the scales coming out a bit different from when I sent them to you, but it is what it is. Actually, I like them just as well...they really aren't that far off from what I sent, so no bigee.

Can't wait to give my daughter this one for Xmas. She's been such a great daughter and deserves a Bill Akers knife like her brother and I have................just not as many as I have........hopefully......;). I couldn't afford more than my addiction alone. Her brother and she will both be gettin' new Bill Aker's knives for Xmas!!

She hikes a bit and this knife is compact and light enough that she will not hesitate to grab it when headin' out. Knives are like handguns, if one feels that they're just too big, heavy and/or cumbersome, they won't reach for either nearly as often. This nice little 2 1/2 in. package should be just right for her day trips and offer her a bit more security all in all. Not much of a stabber at that length, but Bill's knives haven't been known to be dull, so a slicer it is.........;).

The addiction of the swedge does look nice Bill.......good idea. Other than that, it's darn close to the 'ole "Curly Blue Maple" I bought from you a few months back! As I said in an earlier email............I'm finding this blade pattern just as comfy as the many smaller patterned knives that I've purchased from you. Nice to have change and diversify a bit..........:thumbup:.

The sheaths are just as ordered. They look great!!

Thanks for putting these 2 knives so well together Bill. I know that my daughter will be just thrilled to now own one of your customs as well. She spends alot of time checking out the many others that I've received from you, so I know she enjoys your work a great deal. Almost every day she jokes with me after the mail should have arrived and says, "did you get one of those little boxes today.....?". She's smart enough not to say that in front of momma, however......:D:D. For that, she gets a knife.....seems fair to me!

Thanks again Bill. I'll need to start thinkin' about my next Bill Aker's build. I'm pretty sure there's at least another one or two left in the both of us. I'm hoping so, anyway.....:).

Take care Bill and Happy upcoming B-Day as well......!!!

Ken, I knew there was no way you wouldn't want those blades. It's great that you have a good
bond with your daughter. They grow up fast. It's gonna kill you to wait till Christmas to give them
thier knives.

I knew you knew, I knew............:D:D.

I purchased both those scales from different distributors (along with a few more) awhile back and sent them to Bill a few weeks ago. Lots and lots of choices out there....thousands actually. I wasn't going with a pink for Kesley, nor any other outstandingly obvious "feminine" color....she doesn't roll that way......... She's been a photographers model and can turn heads with the best of 'em, but she is much more about nature and the these sports afield.........thank God......:). As for scales, there are so many choices that it became almost less fun picking one than it should have. Type of wood, color, who stabilized it, obvious voids/cracks (as Bill will tell you....most are hidden, such as with my knife.....sorry Bill), wood pattern, yada, yada, yada. But we're here and I'm very happy with the outcome.

Mom's in France, so Kesley and I have a blast fishin' and huntin' together. No knock on mom, but Kelsey and I (much like my son and I), do ALOT of outdoor activities together. One never knows what's around the corner for any of us. By all odds and hopefully, I'll push dirt much sooner than they will. Given that, if I don't pass along what might benefit them in the out-of-doors/fishing/shooting/hunting world, I've then lost that chance. I hate to lose....no matter what the goal. This seems the most important one possible....to me.

Bought her new waders and river outfit just recently. Her 2nd trip out, she got a nice smaller king salmon and a nice silver salmon before i had to leave her on the rivers edge to go home to let the dog out and take a call from my wife (several friends were still at the river and told me they'd keep an eye on her. She's 25, so her judgement is much better, than say, 3 weeks ago...........:D:D). When I returned 1 1/2 hrs. later, I came out of the path in the woods to see her standing waist deep in the river, casting her azz off as I had left her earlier. On the bank next to her gear...a 12 lb. King salmon. She turned to see me approaching and her smile was worth this knife and a gazillion more. IMHO.....this is what it's all about.

And yes...........I was always notorious for giving enough hints prior to Christmans day that every family member, the cat and the dog as well, knew far in advance exactly what they were getting from me. Somethings never change, but I'm gonna give it my best shot.......;)

Take care........

That's the most intense green I've ever seen, and my screen isn't even good at color repro
Looks like a pair of eyes to me, a pair of lovely sexy seductive green eyes...
