I'm looking at the WSKO with the attachment videos on Youtube and reading through forum posts, and I'm left with a question that probably has an obvious answer once you actually use the device.

So the first step is to place the knife on the lower blade rest, I guess to set your muscle memory to what is horizontal. Next, you lift the knife several inches to a position above the first roller. That's a lot of space where a variation from level/horizontal can occur.

Has anyone fabbed a tool rest directly above the first roller? It seems like it would be a no-brainer to keep your knife completely level as you move it across the belt.

Here is a quick and dirty concept of what I pictured:

Would obviously need an adjustment point or two based on the angle you set, but seems, at least on paper, like it would give more consistent results.

Thoughts?

I don't think you would find it necessary. Keeping the blade level/horizontal is pretty easy.

I may have gone too far down the rabbit hole. Here is a much simpler concept:

Would just need to thread the existing hole and bolt a small bracket in place.

What I'm after is as close as I can get to absolute consistent and repeatable results for my collection of Paramilitary 2's. So far, every sharpening system I've used has had too much inconsistency as the result of my level of coordination (or lack thereof).

What systems have you used? There are some such as Wicked edge or the Russian system who's name I can't think of at the moment which clamp the knife in place, I think KME does the same thing. Wouldn't these systems meet your need a little better? The other option of course is just lots of practice with some cheaper knives until you feel comfortable with your skill level to do a blade from your collection.
