I purchased one from Les Robertson, and will be delivered Monday.
3.5 ATS-34 blade-Ti bolsters-carbon fiber scales.
I am looking for input from anyone who has one of his knives with the speed safe mech.
A rating on the following would be greatly appricated.
Fit and Finish.
Blade play-horizontal and vertical.
Lockup.
Speed safe.(any problems)
Customer Service-for those who have needed it.
Overall impressions of his work.

Thanks in Advance.

I had the privelege of meeting Ken at the Blade Show! I also got to handle several of his knives and prototypes! I would have to say that the overall fit, finish and FUCTION is PERFECT!!
I WILL own one of his knives at some point!

Thanks for your input Mr. Blackwood, coming from one of his peers I feel as I have made a sound decision in this purchase and a wise addition to my modest collection.

Thanks

K Robinson,

I have a Tsunami and a Whisper (and a Boa on the way).

The fit and finish on his knives is top notch! Visually, his knives flow from front to back. The hand rubbed satin finish on the blade is beautiful! All of his knives are very light in the hand.

With the 2 knives (that I have) I can attest to zero blade play through the entire opening/closing cycle. Lockup is fast and tight. The opening function is extremely smooth and without a hitch. His Speed Safe mechanism is amazing ! !

I'm a "auto" nut and the Speed Safe mechanism is as fast or faster than all but one of my auto's (I have a custom Harold Corby Corba that is a rocket! !

).

Haven't had any problems with the knives ~ nor have I heard of any.

There is a difference in the way that the Tsunami and Whisper open. The Tsunami opens with light thumb pressure to the thumb stud. The Whisper opens with slight index finger pressure to the small flipper (which is part of the blade) near the spine of the handle.

The opening method on his earlier Boa's was the same as the Tsunami. I'm told that newer Boa's open like the Whisper. Either way........it's cool ! !
