Hey guys! Here's one of Ken's newer designs called Relay, featuring IKBS and SpeedSafe. It measures 7.25" overall, blade length is 3.25", and blade steel is CPM 154. This newer version features a thicker 3/16" blade, which has a beautifully hand rubbed polish and looks even more awesome in person! Enjoy! :)

I don't know anything about the production numbers, but I was SO impressed to find that the 'liners' are milled and the curved insets are part of that. The CF is cut to overlay them.

That's not easy tech. Beautiful knife, smooth as you would imagine, and as well-constructed as you would hope.

Thanks, Kent!

Jim

Thanks guys! As far as I know, I believe CRKT will be doing a production version of this knife. Ken made two versions - this one, and one without carbon fiber. I'm not sure which model the production version will be similar to. Hopefully they'll have both! :)

And BIG thanks to Jim for doing an awesome job with the photography! I'll hopefully be posting the other model tomorrow!

Wow, 3/16th" thick? NICE! Mine's just a mere 1/8th"! ;):D (it's the earlier version) Congratulations on your score, and I'm sure that you love it like I love mine! ...And a great photo as always, Mr. Cooper! :)

Again, a huge thank you to Mr. Onion donating this one to KnifeRights.org for their 2012 Ultimate Steel Spectacular raffle last year.:thumbup:

(I still haven't taken a pic of it that I'm satisfied with, so I hope that Mr. Eggly doesn't mind me using his until I do!)

Incredible workmanship and exceptional output shows why Ken Onion is one of the cutlery greats...one need look no further than these photos to illustrate that.

Best Regards,

This is one of those times were i just said "oh wow" out loud to myself, I havent done that in a long time. This is a beautiful knife I really love it.

Does anyone have more info on when the CF hits market????

Thats looks great.

No thumb stud to ruin the look either

(dont know why I have this irrational loathing of thumb studs, I'd just rather do without them if possible...).

Quoted for truth. As for the tech details, Ken definitely has the chops to take on designs other would consider very difficult to execute.
