Hello all, could use a little help here please. I think that I came across a steal today, a Ken Onion signature Leek BLK-VIBKO, new in box at a mom and pop knife store. Although the knife is new, there are scratch marks on the blade as if has been displayed in the open position with something coming into contact with it. The handle and signature seem to be alright, I'm just concerned about the blade. My question is can the rainbow titanium oxide coated blade be buffed out, or am I better off buying a Rainbow Leek and swapping blades? If anyone would like to see a pic, please send your e-mail and I will forward it from my phone. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I'd love to see a picture of it...is there any way you can post it here?

edit: Very cool! that's nice find if the price is reasonable...

All I took was a close up picture of the blade and I can't seem to get it from my phone onto the forum.

Well, if it is a Black Boron, 2 things: first the knife has more value in its current state, scratched or not. Second, I wouldn't swap blades with a Rainbow for the reason mentioned first. Since you haven't posted a link to where it is, you won't get dinged for deal spotting...How much are they asking for it?

Hmmmm...click on my name and send me an email or PM with your name and the pic. I'll see if I can get the photo to load here

the blkvibko has a black boron handle and a rainbow blade:

Correct Orange. I was thinking about an all black Boron I have...still a beautiful knife, and if in decent condition it might very well be worth the price.

Think I will hang onto it., but thanks. Couldn't believe it when I saw it.
