Hi all, after having a Ken Onion Scallion for a few weeks, I am hoping to move up to a larger Ken Onion.

Any opinions on the 3-4 inch bladed models with the assisted opening?

Thanks

Ohhh, ab-so-freakin-lutely!:D

Bust a move and get a Boa or an Avalanche. I have both and feel I came out on the winning end with both models.

ROTFLMFAO at your new sig line!:D

Theres a rumor going arround that Kershaw will be putting a turbo in there Boa's soon:):):) A little bird told me

Get yourself a Boa. Those are really bitchen', with a way-cool blade-shape, and a groovy blade flip-out lever on the back of the knife!.:).

I won't ask for dates, but could you elaborate on what you mean by "a turbo"? I have two Boas, one in each color scheme, and I carry one every day. I'd love to know what new options are going to be available.

BTW--Thanks for all your amazing design work. I like the "speed safe" mechanism, but I would carry a Boa without it. It gets my vote for the best all-around combination of blade and handle shape out there. And my backup is a Large Sebenza. :)

Hell yeah dude, get a Boa!! The flipper, speed safe, comfortable handle, and the CPM440V blade steel make it an absolute must have!

You will be very impressed with it if you get one. Kershaw is coming out with excellent stuff these days.

Definitely a Boa......get a Boa.......love the Boa.....gotta have a Boa........almost time for Wapner.......Definitely a Boa..........

I'm seeing a real theme hear that the Boa is a good knife, has anyone had any experience with the Blackout?

Are you the real Ken O', or just yankin' my chain?

Last Confederate , last I checked I was Ken Onion. Unless my mama lied to me. At least I've posted as Ken Onion 323 times:)
Yep looks like Boa and possably others will be getting turbos soon.I can only tell you that they will be fast.

 YIKES!!

I should just go out and find a second job now and get it over with. I can't support a wife and a knife habit too.:p

ooooooh yeah get a boa. Mine is my EDC and it rocks. I have the black version but am in the process of polishing the blade. I have already polished the liners and it looks goood. not as tactical anymore but cool as hell still. the Blackout is a good knife too. a guy that I work with has a blackout he uses the hell out of it and it's standing up to the use very well. another awesome speed safe is the Random Task. its not as big as the boa but I really really like the way it feels. I defunately miss mine and will probably get another one someday

Black Boa is very cool! Random Task is also a great knife. You can't go wrong with any of them. :)

I have a Blackout which I rather like, IMHO it's probably one of the best values in the SpeedSafe line.

The factory edge has always impressed me and i've yet to encounter a situation it's 440A blade couldn't handle, additionally the coating is kind of cool.

However, after going to my local knife dealer and handling a Black Boa, I think eventually I will have to buy one, if nothing else, for it's amazingly sharp, thin, CPM440V edge, plus the T6 Aluminum handle feels nice in the hand, and I like the guard that doubles as a secondary opening device - sure $125 is a little steep but eh, i'm in the market for a couple "premium" factory knives anyway.

It's not assisted opening, but I just got my 1640 Vapor today. At around $20 mail order, it may very well be the best knife per dollar spent made by anyone. In fact it's so nice I'll probably be ordering the large version next week!

Ken...any chance of releasing a Vapor with an upgraded premium steel?

Thanks!

I have a black Boa and like it very much. However, to my disappointment, the edges on the liners seem to be very sharp. I have found that they have worn holes in two pair of dress pants. I have not found this to be a problem with jeans, but a disappointment none the less.

If you are looking for a good folder to clip to the pocket of some nice pants, look elsewhere.
