So I just picked up the KOWS and the BGA so I will have a portable variable speed system to sharpen knives for friends and family over the holidays. My normal source of belts doesn't carry 1" x 18" so I'm having to look around. Wanted to see what you guys have found. I'm used to ordering lots of 2 x 72" belts so this is certainly different. I did find these that I'm gonna give a shot probably. I only want 120 and 220 grit, along w/ a leather belt. Any good sources out there?

I've tried a variety... WorkSharp's "low flex" version of their Norax belts, while more expensive than other brands, have for me, outlasted everything else, and cut well their entire life. (The X65=220g). They sell a variety pack, but if you call them, you can order a set of one grit. (They did for me anyway). May even want to give the pack a try and see what you think of the various grits.

Klingspor's Woodworking made me a set of their Gold Belts that were decent also... (again had to call).

Stay away from Econoway....

thanks for that info! I ordered 5 each of these and these. Will see how they work and maybe grab some of those norax belts from WS. That was my main issue, I didn't want a variety pack but wanted to pick up a bunch of 1 or 2 belts. shoot, I don't mind getting them 50 of each grit at a time even.
