just picked up one of these doodads to save time touching up my work knife.

What degree should I use on a randal no 8? I put a 25 degree edge on it and worked down to 6000 grit. It will pop hair but I can make it way sharper with a old piece of roof tile that I've been using.

Did you get the blade grinding attachment?

it will be hard to beat careful hand sharpening with the regular worksharp. Go to a lower angle, at 15-20 degrees, and strop with green compound (or finer) after you are done with the worksharp to make sure you fully remove any burr.

Also, it’s good to keep in mind that the worksharp is a power tool, not a precision tool. It’s useful for fast, repeatable and respectably sharp edges.

It is rarely going to give you sharper results than you can get from a slower and more finely-controlled manual sharpening. Different tools for different jobs.

I have one. Haven't used it in years. Imo a paper wheel or belt sander does a much better job. I see many people upgrade to the belt sander attachment after they get it.

Yes I am saying I can do better with the roof tile.

Works great on dead kitchen knives, not so much on thicker blades. The 6000 grit will do good with fixing the edge when i need it but overall not that impressed.
