I am interested in this sharpener. I am curious..are there 2 generations of the sharpener? And if so,,what changes have been made to the most recent generation?

There's the original WorkSharp, and the new Ken Onion WorkSharp. The upgrades in the KO version include: wider belts, better belts, a variable speed motor (that's also a little bigger), and an adjustable angle guide from 15-30 deg. You can also bolt it down to a bench if you want. It also has a Blade Grinding Attachment that you might look at.

All I can think of off the top of my head.

Blade Grinding Attachment ????You mean for tools?

I think even in the Ken Onion WS, there is modifications to the case, to strengthen it. I am sending mine back, the attachment point broke off. They are sending me a new one. Lady on the phone (Betsy) implied the replacement was beefed up. I gathered mine was not the first to fail. It is under warranty, so all is good. Wonderful company.

For the money, the Ken Onion is the better product. Much more versatile.
