To those of you that are Ken Onion fans you will be glad to know that he will be selling/displaying at the Solvang Knife Show next weekend. Dave Harvey just gave me this news and is excited about Ken being there.

That show date and information:

April 27-29, 2007 -- 23rd Annual Solvang Custom Knife Show to be held at the Solvang Royal Scandinavian Inn, 400 Alisal Road, Solvang, California 93643. Produced By Dave and Grace Harvey of NORDIC KNIVES. Phone: 805-688-3612. 61 First class tables

Regards,

Rhett Stidham

That is great news for the shows attendees, I hope someone gets good pictures so we can see what his latest work is like. I hope things go better for him this trip than at the Plaza Show, that was high crime indeed.

Mr. Onion had a lot of knives stolen in transit to the Plaza show last year:(. You can read about it in the GBU Hall of shame.

All his knives were stolen for the Plaza show and it was disgusting! I spoke to Ken at the Moteng dealer show and he told me that he ships all now.

Yup, what he said!!

I hope Mr. Onion's knives arrive safe and sound!! I look forward to seeing pix.

Pictures, you say? Coming right up. I'll be in Solvang at least once this weekend, and I'll try to take as many pics as possible.

I was hoping that at least a couple of Ken's knives that were stolen would show up! Mike and Manuela

That's great news indeed, does anyone know how he will sell them, lottery?

Cheers!

I made it to the show, but I had to go on Sunday, so by the time I got there, not only had Ken sold out, but he had packed up and left! It seemed to be a good show for him. The silver lining on this cloud is that one of the Ken Onion lottery winners was a seller at the show who stuck around until Sunday, and I was able to handle one of Ken's knives, pictures in the next thread. As for the show itself, the highlight for me was Bud Nealy. Really nice guy, and more interested in talking about knives than selling them.

USSR, the knife in the image is Ken's Dead Sexy.

Since Solvang, Ken has spent the last few days up here in Portland, but did talk about the show in great detail. Sounds like it was a wonderful time for all those who attended.

All his knives were done up in a lottery, and sold out (of course).

Ahhhh, how fitting. If anybody knows the actual scale material, please correct me. I say mammoth ivory but I'm not entirely sure.

Mammoth is correct, along with a Mike Norris "Fire Clone" damascus pattern blade.
