Hi, I am new to this forum so take it easy on me... Does anyone know if Kennedy Arms Knife Co. made aluminum fixed blade knives that have NO manufacture marks on it. Knife looks like a hunter knife. Looks similar to ones I have looked at on line, but NO markings. Thanks...Capt'n

The knife is at an antique store. I believe the steel blade goes inside the aluminum handle. I didn't buy it for $40 till I make sure that it is in fact a Kennedy Arms Knife.

Sorry, I am not familiar with that company, but I have always liked the look of WW II theater made knives with those type of handles, and after doing some looking there was a Kennedy Bros. Arms Co in St Paul; and Ruanas have always been at the top of my grail Knives list. Hope you find the info you are looking for, just be aware of fakes and if the knife is too good to be true, it usually is. Maybe another good place too start with info was Levine's Antiuque knives column, here in the forum. I think read about them in an article in another knife magazine, the old Knife World in black and white.

I went ahead and asked about the knife company in the Bernard Levine's section here in the forums. Let's hope it generates some interest and info, I will also look to see if I can find the article in that other magazine, they have an archive section of articles if I can figure how to use it, I have a subscription with them.

from LGIV Donald W. Moore, worked 1930's to 1965 Made combat knives for kennedy Bros. Arms, 1942-45. Interesting in that Strarrett mark on blade. Is Starrett not a machine tool maker?

Also found this info in the forums referring to Donald W Moore who made knives for Kennedy Bros. Arms Co. during WW2, it also looks like he made a few with his name on them, not sure of the Starrett name but others are also marked as such.

Thanks so much! I am going to stop at the antique store and take some pictures of the knife and try and post it here for you to see. Can I post pictures here with my phone?

I am not sure but you may have to have a paid subscription to post a pic, look under the subscriptions tab to see a list of things you can do with each level. If I am wrong, others use a photo hosting site like Imager, photo bucket, etc. I am not sure how to do that but others have explained how.

Hi again.. Thanks for your reply. I may just pick it up today and put it on eBay. After looking at other knives, I probably won't loose too much money. Maybe even make a little if it was made by Moore

I would be more interested to see if it was by Moore, sounds like a good buy, hopefully it is not just a Rada or other knife someone put an aluminum handle on, the real ones are go for a good amount. I would just use it, as trying to prove it is a real one is hard without some provenance.

Well, It's not a knife that I would use or even want for my collection. And you are correct, It would be hard to sell not being marked. So I guess at this time I will pass on buying it. After 50 years of collecting knives, I now pretty much just buy old stag handle Case knives if priced right. At 67 I should start getting rid of them but I probably won't. I might end up like an old pirate and die with all the booty, haaa! It's been great talking to you. Happy hunting, Cap't

Thanks, the hunt for good and interesting knives continues. Thanks for an enjoyable topic.
