I recently got this large folder stamped "KENT" over "N.Y. CITY" - celluloid scales (?) and shield. It seems unused with an unsharpened blade, and has some nice patina.
Was Kent a brand name used by Camillus? Any ideas when this knife was made?
Thanks!
:)

The KENT trademark was used by F.W. Woolworth. Camillus made this brand for them from 1931-1955.

Is that bone on the handles? Interesting color. Very nice.

No, it is one type of cell. I have several knives made by A. Kastor & Sons / Camillus with this same cell material. It was used on several brand markings including Kent, Clover, Streamline, Fairmount, Syracuse, etc.

Kent, sold by F.W. Woolworths, was a very inexpensive knife. They were, afterall, a "five & dime" store. They made national news for their bold business move when they sold knives (provided by Albert Baer/Camillus) for fifteen and twenty cents.
