Kentuck Belt Axe

Hello, just bought a Kentucky Belt Axe off of E-bay the same one as listed here... http://www.crazycrow.com/Merchant2/...024&Category_Code=842-100-000&Product_Count=8
seems nice but small. Anyway I cant seem to get the head on well it's like you slide it on form the toop of the handle but i cant seem to slide it all the way down. can hardly get it 1/4 inch. never seen a hawk that fits liek this w/o a wedge. Any suggestions on how to put it on?

You can always remove some material from the top and custom fit the head. I have had to do this with many axes that were designed to fit from the top. I usally use a belt sander or a grinder(hand or bench) I have fit with wheels used just for wood. I have also done it with a good knife and a coarse wood file when power tools were not available.
