Hi folks -
I was pleased to find my beautiful Kentucky Fieldmate March Special with Neck Sheath when I arrived home last night. Thanks to Stomper and ky turkey for a great design and execution.
I had some other work to do last night, so I could not play with it, but tonight I got it out and took some pictures (not the best), and did some measuring and weighing so I could post here.
The blade is 2.71"/69mm long, and .89"/22.6mm tall.
The handle is 3.38"/86.0mm long, .79"/20.0mm thick tapering to .54"/13mm at it's narrowest.
The blade is .095"/2.42mm thick.
The knife weighs in at 2.4oz/66gr.
On to the pictures -
Stomper's typical beautiful fit and finish, and I chose the neck sheath option.
I have been ordering my knives with red liners, as I think that accentuates the burl handle scales:
A top view with the perfectly contoured scales:
Here is a size comparison with a CRK Small Sebenza 21, I think the Kentucky Fieldmate holds it's own in a beauty contest even with a beautiful knife like the CRK.
Thanks again, ky turkey, and Stomper for a great design, at a great price.
I look forward to using this one, I can tell this will be a favorite knife to have with me in the woods.
best regards -
