In preparation for a backpacking trip in the sangre de christo mountains this weekend, I made a couple of knives:

Kephart knife
This is pretty faithful to the original design, with only a few tweaks on my end
Steel: 1/8" 1084
Weight (mass): 6.65oz (188g)
Length: 9-3/32" (23.2cm)
Blade: 4-3/8" (11.1cm)
Handle: 'walnut' dymondwood
Handle thickness: tapers from 29/32" (2.3cm) to 11/16" (1.7cm)
Attachment: 4 nickel pins, 2 steel machine screws

Bush Bandit
This is a bushcraft version of my 'little bandit' design. It's meant as a neck knife that would be a companion to a larger knife. The cord-wrapped handle would normally bug me for a bushcraft knife, since it can't be cleaned, but I don't anticipate using this for food prep or skinning or anything.
Steel: 1/8" 1084
Length: 5.5" (13.9cm)
Blade: 2-1/8" (5.4cm)
Handle: 0.09" kydex scales under paracord
Weight (Mass): 2.7oz (77g)

Thanks for looking!

p.s. This is not a 'for sale' thread. These are for my personal use.

Nice looking Kephart. Looks a lot like the BRKT full tang Kephart, but of course they would not be a Kephart if they did not look like one. :)

Yeah, there's only so much variation in these knives that you can have before it stops being a kephart. Kephart gave such a specific description of the knife, down to the number of rivets, the thickness of the handle and the size of the guard.
The Bark River Kephart is one that I looked at (along with dozens of others) when I was designing mine. I think mine is slightly more true to the original, but that isn't necessarily a good or a bad thing. I did a more traditional design for the very reason that I didn't necessarily agree with all of the design points (such as the broadness of the tip). This way I can expand what I'm exposed to, knife-wise, and may find something that I unexpectedly like.

You should get maker status and start selling these bad boys. I really like your take on Kephart

The blade is 1" wide. The handle is 1-1/32" at the narrowest, and 1-3/32" at the widest.
