Hello folks,

Ive got an Edge Pro on its way and im wondering if you guys have ever sharpened a kerambit style knife on this system.

I ordered the 1/2'' stones for recurve blades, but don't know how well they'll work on a kerambit.

Please chim in with suggestions and input.

Thanks,

Heath

Just give the stone a quarter turn and sharpen with the edge. I've done this when sharpening a Balinese Kris that had multiple recurves as deep as a kerambit.

Thanks. I was thinking I may have to round the sides of the stone to reduce the width even further, but this gives me some reassurance.

I made a lot of custom stones for my EdgePro, including some made from ceramic rods of differing grits. Those were easier to use as it kept the angles the same without worrying if I turned the stone more or less when I changed sides. Easy enough to round off Japanese water stones to accomplish the same thing.
