Kerambit video

WOW!

Thanks, Dan.

This should go BTTT. Yikes, that guy is fast.

Ad Astra

I am no martial artist or expert at anything, so was impressed by this video.
"Never thought a kerambit was that deadly," maybe should have been my early-morning reply. Also my video-playing speed is at question on this old computer. Sorry, All.

<< that guy is fast.>>

really think so?

I thought it was embarrassingly amateur

but thanks for the effort DK that was nice of you to go through the trouble to post it

Why would you say that?:p It's a demo film fer christ's sake. :grumpy: No need too be snotty.:(

Hell if it was done at the actual speed a man would use a knife no one would be able too see it, besides it would've been over at the first lethal cut.

Nor would the guy's opponent have obligingly stood there, arm extended, and allowed himself to be carved up like a Thanksgiving turkey. :)

Gotta agree with Aziz and Satori on this one. The demo had flaws that "speeding things up" would do very little to improve.

That said, the kerambit does make real nice in the slice and dice. :p

<<you DO have an HI kerambit, right??????>>

I do have one and do know how to use it

<<No need too be snotty>>

not meant to be...but there is a need to be honest

Thanks for taking time & trouble to post the vid Dan.

Must admit think they would just die in many real life conflicts though, with people used to real violence on a daily basis, that is.
They might be faster if they eat less & trained more as well, least that way they could try & run away.

I've heard my friends complain how boring a Pride freestyle match can be.

I've always been weary of marital arts displays that seem super fantastic.

True a flying, spinning reverse kick is far more entertaining than a simple right cross or left hook.

But in the end, what do you really think is more effective? The one that looks pretty or the one that gets the job done.

There is a way too be honest and not be snotty about it.

I'm always leery of the guys who say they have something and know how too use it.
The ones that really know, like Satori, Dave Hahn and Death Dancer don't say it like that.
They just simply tell what they've studied and let you decide for yourself whether they know how too use it or not.
I don't know anything about knife fighting except what I learned on the street when I was a youngster.
Scare someone like myself and they're more apt too kill you out of fright and luck because they're coming from off the wall than any amount of training may account for.
I haven't seen anyone killed by such but I have seen some little guys that weren't much in the way of build take on and beat the livin crap outta much bigger and more experienced men.

Like I said,

Being a demo film it is supposed too be slow and therefore will look amateurish.

Maybe it was just because it was early and no one had had their coffee yet? :p

Yup, thanks for posting it Dan, some of us enjoyed it for what it is.:D

I may be totally wrong maybe this guy is a master that has spent 20 years studying this weapon…

but most of the time its some self defense claimed guru that picked up the latest fad weapon played with a few months and passes his self off as some expert…

Just his posture in his moves gives away a lot as well as the moves and positions he exchanges.

I also agree with the statement about the stick your arm out and let someone walk around you is a common way people want to show off but it has very little to do with reality. It is a sad but common fact in martial arts today there are a lot of these ‘demos” around

As far as myself…. for what its worth Yes 35+ years in martial arts most of them with blades owned a few schools still teach a group of advanced students etc

and gee I have been a member here for a while and don't talk about it...so does that make me good or bad??

it was meant to be an honest answer IMO

OK, OK, lets everybody cool off a little bit. This is the cantina, and I'm buying the first round tonight. :D
Thanks Dan (it's the thought that counts)

Hehehehehe, someone tried to ding me negative rep points but didn't have enough clout. And they didn't leave their name.
This is the way it shows up in my User's CP......

If you're gonna give points either positive or negative at least have the courage too leave your name.:D

Well before you go making any more accusations it wasn’t me if I did it I would leave my name and make it clear what I think

However since your post I did watch the vid again a couple of times went in slow motion step by step looked at each and every part of every technique…and my conclusion…I wasn’t harsh enough

Aziz, you need to calm down friend. There is nowhere I accused you of trying to give me the neg points.
All I said is that if you give points negative Or positive then have the courage too sign your name.
I couldn't care less about the damned video. It is simply what it is.
