Leatherface sent me his new Kerambit for some woodchucking and sharpening. He included one of his new sheaths. Thought I would post some pics of a pretty knife and sheath.

It's supposed to be Neem. But it didn't have any distinctive smell like folks speak of. So.....not sure.

Steve

You've outdone yourself Dave. Very dayum great. Looks like Neem to me. Mine in Neem vary in the aroma. I don't have a Kermabit. Waiting patiently. Boo Hoo.

Thanks guy's...:D

When I got it from Yangdu it had "NEEM" on the handle so that is what i am going by...But Steve is right, it doesnt have the odor that other's speak of when they talk about Neem...

Andy...They are a sweet knife...now if we can get Dan to make us a 75% model, that would be sweet!!!

Available?? yup sure are...You wouldnt happen to have a pure line, never been breed 0.1.0 Hog Island Boa would ya?? That is what I am looking for right now...

Going to the reptile show this weekend at Dorton Arena...Someone give me strength!!! :p

I think Dan takes orders for kermabits. Check out his site.

Edited. Dave, you coming down for the blade show?

Andy,
Would love to...BUT the pressure of having a real job AND being a single dad AND running a business, preclude me from attending...Maybe next year if everything lines up right...Maybe by that time I will get good enough to make some money at leather work..lol

hmm...Noone has PM'ed me about the Hog Island Boa thing yet...You guys WANT me to goto the show on Sat and act a fool dont ya??:D

Everyone is thinking you're looking for more sheath material, and we are just thinking about the poor animals!

Dick:D

That is simply beautiful - a stunning marriage of knife and sheath. The one complements the other so well ...

To hell with the animals any way. Most of the winey vegans in peta are wearing leather shoes and carrying a coach bag. LOL. Sorta kidding, don't flame me.

I know you weren't serious, and this isn't a shot at you Dick.

SURE, SURE!! How did you know I have both the M-60 and the 50 cal out for head space calibration, at this most needed time?
Not a problem.

Dick

There's lots of different sheath materials available, some very pratitical and tactical, however leather still rules. And it will rule for a long long time to come.

GUys I have been remiss in something:foot: ...I would like to apologize for being rude to a fellow forum member and all around great guy...

I would like to thank Steve F for his work on my Kerambit and the great pics that he took...Trust me that thing wasnt in the best of shape when he got it, and now it looks better than when it was new...It is also sharp enough to scare the hair off of your arm...MUCH respect to ya bro:thumbup: :D

Now where were we??;)

Dick,
Hehhahaha...Remind me to tell ya about the flaming I got on a reptile message board for asking someone if I could buy there dead Albino Burmese python...It wasnt a pretty thing to see let me tell ya (would have made a prettty sheath though):p

Tom,
Thanks bro...Steve's work on the Kerambit is superb...The sheath was the 3rd attempt on my part to get it right...The first one was just a little bit small...Although it was the prettier of the 3..yea I cried over that one!!:o

Andy I agree totally with what ya said...BUT even asking about the dead ones can get ya banned on certain snake boards..I even take in rescues from time to time and they STILL get ill at what I do...I dont think I have ever made a snakeskin sheath..yea the irony..lol

Bufford...Couldnt agree more...Hopefully leather will always be a part of what I do...granted it should pay better:eek:

Munk...thanks bro:thumbup:

This is choice. (remember that slang for good stuff?) To get the skin I'd guess you'd have to honor the snake somehow.

"Let me transform Fred the python even after his death into something useful and charming, something as pleasing to the eye as when he was alive.
Let me celebrate Fred."

Please stuff the carcass in a small box and send it to me 2nd day air so he wont smell too bad. I want to skin Fred and make a sheath out of the old rat-eater..
