Kerambit?

Anybody know anything about the new Kerambit? I've recently decided I want a folding Kerambit, and since we all know how good Emerson products are, it's now on my short list. I would, however, like to hear from someone that's actually had their hands on one. So how about it? Anybody got a report?

I have had mine for about a month now. I have no access to training so I await Christmas to get a trainer tape(no access to funds either). As for the blade only...great. I can flip it around a bit but have not gotten too ambitious with it yet. The handle is quite comfortable. If anything this makes a great plain edge hawkbill folder. Maybe a waste from a fighting Karambit view point but a decent blade nonetheless. I read Mr Emerson developed the knife to be comfortable in all grips...I don't find this. I really only feel comfortable with it in the standard rev grip. I must say this is my first wave knife and man is it FAST on the draw. It has good steel and a good handle. I wish the ring was covered/lined though it does flex a little under hard grip. Take Care!

Had mine for awhile now... got a Karambit.com trainer .
This is my left side carry EDC , it is fast out of the pocket into reverse grip . I carry either my Commander or SnG strongside.

Gotta love them Emerson's.

Here is mine all dressed up :

I've had an Emerson Karambit a couple of months now. I'd make the following observations.
The lock is harder to close than necessary, not to the point that it's a problem but I would expect better from a knife in this price range and category. The lock has never failed but looking at it it does not inspire confidence. A knife you can't trust (whether a valid concern or not) may be a liability. The blade is not as smooth in opening and closing as it could be but it will be fine once it's worn in a bit more. I think the blade is excellent, the edge is sharp enough but no more than that - I would describe it as a good working edge, I'm sure I could get it alot sharper if I tried but the way it came is a lot more practical and durable. I find the handle very comfortable in every position I try it in. What else would I change? I think the handle is to large for the lenght of blade, I think Emerson should consider offering (as well as, not instead of) the same handle with a bigger blade and the same blade in a smaller handle. I thought the wave feature was a gimmick until I tried it - It is quick!
It is very easy to cricise so -
Bottom line: Am I happy with it, would I buy it again?
Yes and Yes

I would like to see something like this from Emerson :

I know they make it in a custom with a smaller Commander shaped blade though this is an actual Mini Commander blade that dropped right into a set of Karambit Liners :D

only part I didn't like was the cigar cutter effect thru the ring area :

I found my Karambit became much smoother once I cleaned and greased it a bit , I also polished the Black finish around the washer area for less resistance .

I guess that's exactly why there's a relatively long handle-to-blade ratio! :D

I also believe any hard use knife, for camp or combat, should have maybe too much rather than too little handle.

I don't think the Commander of all knives needs an improved grip! :p
