My kerambit arrived today. The workmanship is excellent and the blade is wicked sharp. Its lots bigger then I expected as far as the handle goes, seems like there could be some more blade considering the handle size. When I first clipped it into my pocket and saw how far the ring protruded I was a bit dismayed as it wouldn't be practical for me tocarry like that, then I clipped it iwbbehind my right hip and its perfect. There is a lot of knife to grasp and I am sure with some practice it will be really fast to deploy. I am gonna have to play with it some more to decide if its for me. I have pretty small hands and the width of the handles seems to be a bit much for me but we shall see.
How do other folks carry theres? tip up/down, pocket, IWB or something else? Does anyone use a sheath for this one? It occors to me it might be slick with the clip removed in a kydex rig anyone seen this/tried this?

well again spyderco produces a high quality knife in a radical design that I am looking forward to working with.

Thanks Spyderco

Sam

I agree about the kerambit. I checked one out at The World of Knives in Hopkins, MN, and thought the handle was too big and flat. I also thought the tip was way too thin. Actually, that is the only problem I've ever had with any Spyderco product; thin tips. I loved the feel and look of the Temperance, but I felt the tip was too thin for any utility ablications. I like a beefey tip on a knife. I have to say that Benchmade Knives excel in this area. Their knives always have great penetration, but tips that can hold up to some fairly heavy usage. If the Temperance would have had a beefer tip, I can guarantee you I would have purchased it and it would have been one of my favorites to this day.

Depends on who you ask. I've seen it spelled kerambit, karambit, karombit, korambit, and korombit by various makers. It would be nice to know the "true" spelling of this.

So is the clip on the karamit four position? It looks like it is at least ambi and I didn't have any trouble removing it but I can't get any of the other screws off. This happened when I tri9ed to remove the clip on my Persian, got one screw out but the two others wouldn't budge. Obviously the clip arrangements but the one removeable screw is confounding me. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Doesn't a kerambit by design dictate tip up carry? And since it's a framelock, wouldn't that rule out ambidexterity?
