Hi all, looking for a kermabit along the lines of the szabo box cutter. If someone could direct me to a website where i could find something like this i would appreciate it. Looking in the $100-$125 range. Thanks

I am curious if you know that a Kerambit can be had effectively for $10-15? It is not going to be a $140 custom, but it will provide the cutting of meat and the hooking/ trapping/ bashing of the custom. And keep in mind this is not a tool designed for utility purposes, and is not a folder so a piece of pakistani steel will do what you need, unless you want a really nice one for your own pride of ownership (not a bad thing, hence all the custom stuff on the market)

I happen to have two of the paki ones, made by Sarco, and am happy with them. I do not expect much from them, except to be last ditch tools or a cool toy. The sheath is a joke on these, but that can be corrected by two small pieces of leather being stitched together to cover the pointy end. The Sarco also has hooks/ edges orinted for a pull towards yourself as well as moving your hand in an arc up, in or out.

Try one out, you may be pleasantly surprised. If not, you have a cool paperweight for the desk at the house.

You might want to keep an eye on Ebay. They come up every now and then. There are two kerambits there now, but they're rather large; nothing like Szabo's Box Cutter.

Why not just get a box cutter from szaboinc.com? It did cost about $100 though. Comes in a nice leather sheath. I wear mine inside the waistband or in the back pocket and all that shows is the clip and the finger hole. Very low profile... much more discreet than a normal fixed blade, in my opinion.

While we're on the subject of kerambits... as far as I can tell, my box cutter conforms to all the local & state laws for knife carry in CT. Do you think a LEO could make a case for it being a fist load, though?

I got mine at Gun show for $10-15 and like it fine. I cannot justify $100 for something like this. That way i can keep buying Mad Dogs and Randalls.

EK, go to any gun show and look for the guy with the cheap folders, he should have it. DPB, mine has the dinosaur bird on the box too (terydactyl?)

Parker, Does the kerambit have a gut hook on the backside of the blade-saw them at sarco cutlery.com under dark fantasy blades and it was called the black Ninja can get them for about $20 bucks-Thanks for your time Nightwing

Nightwing, thats the one....The bottom edge is not sharpened I had to put a edge on both of mine...

Nightwing, yup, that's it. BTW, is not a kerambit properly attuned nothing but a gut hook?

Interesting to here knife guys talk abt cheapies.

If it is just for a wall somewhere I would go as cheap as still looked pretty.

If I were going to carry it I say **** pretty and **** cheap. If it might save my life I will pay a fair price.

I like the szabo box cutter.

just my not so humble opinion.
