Kerrihard power hammer?

Kerrihards are supposed to be a good compact hammer. They are far rarer than LGs so parts will be tougher to find.

I don't like the way the guy was striking cold steel - thats hard on everything.

Price seems very fair if there are no cracks in the frame, damaged sow blocks, ram guides etc. I don't own power hammer but did repair industrial eqp and those are the things I'd look for.
 
You might search Don Fogg's forum also. I remember a few years ago that one of the smiths had one and there was talk of set up parameters, etc
 
Looks like a pretty nice little hammer Mike. It would hit a lot harder and with better control if it was mounted properly. All that bouncing around takes energy away from what the hammer is supposed to be doing. I completely agree with stevomiller.... hammering on cold steel isn't good on a hammer. I'm a bit baffled why he would do that to demonstrate the hammer rather than actually working something hot. Unless he doesn't have a forge! :confused: :foot: :rolleyes: :)
