Hi all!

I found a nice dealer who has some of the Kershaw discontinued models under $30 and who ships things cheaply, even in here behind the civilization. But before I make purchase I wanted to have opinions about this knife I am looking:

Kershaw Mini Cyclone. If someone has it or its bigger brother, any input would bevaluable. For under $30 Mini Cyclone seems to be more knife for my proverbial bucks than Kersahw Centofante for same price.

Are there any design flaws in cyclone?
How reliable is Speed safe turn on/off switch?
How do you like handle and blade geometry of cyclone?

Mini Cyclone would fit nicely for sturdy knife traveling in belt or in pocket when I am in woods with my camera.

I don't know the value of currency in your county, but $30 USD is a very good price for a NIB Kershaw mini-Cyclone. They work well & the on/off works fine. However, IIRC, they don't flip open as smoothly manually as a flipper that doesn't have A/O at all.

I found the mini-Cyclone to be a little too small for my hands, but they're big, so it might be a good fit for you (Depending on your hand size, of course). The blade shape is fine.

If the mini-Cyclone was just a tad bigger, I'd probably still have at least 1 of the 2 Ti Cyclones that I had (Ti frame-lock with solid ZDP-189 blade steel).

I would personally choose the mini-Cyclone over Kershaw Centofante, which is smaller than the mini-Cyclone.

The Mini-Cyclone is a sturdy little knife with a useful shaped blade and steel that takes a fine edge and holds it for a respectable time. The On/Off switch for the AO works well and the knife carries nicely in the pocket. The fit and finish is up to Kershaw's high standards as well. All in all, an excellent knife that I am sure you will enjoy.

The knife is well constructed and the AO mechanism works as advertised. I have slightly larger hands than most and felt the handle was a bit small for a full, comfortable grip. The blade geometry is good but the bevel at the edge is ground too thickly. That part can be fixed pretty quickly, though the thumbstuds tend to get in the way of reprofiling. It has some minor flaws but it's a good value overall. Might be worth checking out some youtube videos to get an idea of it's size and whether it will fit your hand well.

Thanks everyone. I got medium sized hands so I think Mini-Cyclone is good fit. If I would get Mini Cyclone natively, I probably would have to pay $80+ USD. It seems I shall buy Mini-Cyclone as soon as possible (in two days) that is.

Sure it doesn't have any good coating like Kershaw's DLC that works against corrosion ( damn bead blast finish ) but thin layer of oil should do the work, as it has done with my Zing and Skyline.

I have a couple os the mini-cyclone..only reason i bought multiple of them b/c i got them so cheap on ebay..its a good knife, prefect size for me, i have med hands. I think the blade is perfect length, i always keep it in the off mode for the A/O...you can get it on ebay if ur watchful between 15-25 bucks..
