Kersahw Skyline BM Griptilian

I would say the Grip... Tried and trusted, know to be rugged, Axis Lock.

If price is an issue, you might then look into the Skyline. Or Byrds. Or the Benchmade Monochrome.

There is a huge difference in size and ability here. The skyline is a small folder. SMALL. the grip is a larger folder. mid size overall. Both can handle all the tasks you want.

For EDC purposes, they will both sufice. the Grip can handle larger tasks, and has the axis vs the frame lock. Like i said, two dif classes of knife

Get a Mini Grip and it's still a far better knife. For the lock, if nothing else.

moose, this question is like asking which is best: a Cadillac or a Camry...it's extremely hard to compare an apple to an orange.

I have both, and they're designed completely different.

This is a tough one. I love my mini grips - the lock is excellent, great steel. Which will last longer, which is better? I have no idea. They should both last a lifetime - most quality production knives should.

Wouldn't compare the Byrds to either. Much lower quality scale. The Grip
is the way to go. The axis lock is something you'll never worry about.

Not really a fair contest.

A bit more fair would be to compare the S30V/G10 Leek to the Cabela D-2 mini Grip :D

The Skyline has a liner-lock, not a frame-lock. However, the Skyline's liner-lock has one of the best executions I've seen. The Skyline makes a much better slicer, but the Grip is more robust. Hope that helps.

No problem. I thought that maybe, because of your sig line (about well made liner-locks being as strong as frame-locks), you considered the Skyline's liner-lock to be a frame-lock, and it probably is just as strong, I just didn't want the OP to get confused.
