has anyone used this folder? my friend picked one up at wal mart for $30 and seems like a great knife for the price. does anyone have any reviews on it? thanks.

It is a GREAT knife for the price. I had a Storm II and I traded it off because it was too large for me. I prefer the Storm for it's 3" blade.

It's a nice frame lock knife that's made in the USA and if Im not mistaken it won many awards for being such a great USA made knife and being so inexpensive.

The blade steel is Sandvik 13C26 I beleive and it sharpens up nice and holds an edge really well.

The traktek inserts on the handles are like skateboard griptape and are really brutal on the hands. I hear they wear away a bit and are fine after some use.

Great knife all in all. If I were you I would go grab one up.

I couldn't find one thing wrong with the knife. It's good stuff! :)

A close friend of mine had a Kershaw storm, which is highly similar. I really love the knife, with a few minor gripes.

I think the grip tape is a little too severe, but it eases up after a couple months.

His particular lock didn't have very good lockup and has actually snapped shut before, but he was holding it in a weird way (fingers pinching the sides) for some special cutting...the flipper and the nature of the framelock probably would have prevented that from ever happening if his fingers were actually in the way. That said, just check out the lockup.

It really is a fantastic deal and a highly overlooked knife. Its action is comparable to even axis lock knives, in my humble opinion.

I have one and like it very much except for three things
1. the inserts on the side have pretty much removed about 3 layers of skin from the back of my right hand.
2. I got mine at wally world, of course, and they only had the combo edge. i would prefer the plain edge version.
3. I find the blade shape a little odd.
Now that being said i think for the money it is a good deal. the sandvik steel seems to do very well and mine locks up very good with no problems. when in doubt go for it, it's only money, good luck ahgar

thanks for the reviews. i think i would perfer the plain edge also but wally's does not offer it, at least the one where i live does not.

I love mine, cuts like crazy, locks up good and tight, I even like the grippy inserts. But that clip...it just screams "Hey! got a really big fricken' knife here!!!" I find it really frustrating to have a knife nearly perfect in every way (for my purposes and tastes) nearly ruined by a dumb feature that has no real function other than flash.

yea my friend say he is really likeing his new knife. think im gana break down and head to wally's to go get one myself.

I love this Storm 2, I still haven't used it cause I don't wanna deface the blade yet(im sure you can relate to this). They have one left at our wally's. I'm going to try and get it too.
