I recently was fortunate to purchase this Kershaw Trooper #1007 from its first owner. He bought it at a local Dutch dealer between 1986-1988. The knife is in a very good condition, except for some light blade scratches. The sheat is made of premium leather, only dammaged in one spot. It came with original cassette and product folder. The handle is made out of Ebony. I've been reading about this Kershaw model and there seem to be made over 30.000 pieces by now. The first 2500 or so were produced without bloodgroove.

My questions about this particular piece.
How can it be that there's NO production number stamp identification?

Very nice. My local knife shop in Portland has one of those right now but I remember them wanting some ridiculous sum of money for it.

I have one exactly the same purchased in the late 1980s in Christchurch, New Zealand. It has no serial number either.

Wow!!:eek: What a score. God luck - I agree to contact Kershaw. I never knew they made anything that beautiful. A real pig sticker.

Before this thread gets locked I found something on AZ custom knife, they were selling one…

“This Trooper by Kershaw Knives is a mirror polished double edged dagger with fullers, .218" blade stock and .938" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a stainless steel guard and butt with wood grip and brass spacers, lanyard hole at the butt. Comes with a brown leather sheath, original box and papers dated January 1982 and s/n 8692. Excellent condition. Almost 40 Years Old!!”

So considering 1982 and the SN is almost 4,000 more on yours, it’s probably more like 1985… but that’s just a guess, and I have no idea how many they made either
Awesome looking knife BTW

Every "early" Kershaw Trooper that I have ever seen (& that I was interested in buying) was numbered and came in a presentation case with a COA w/its SN & DOB on it. The earlier the DOB, the more likely the SN & DOB were written in by hand.

The COA for my Trooper is handwritten with SN#3936 and a DOB of June, 1980.

Can't imagine that they made 4k Troopers between 1980-1982 but what do I know? 🤷‍♂️

Thank you!! This is what I got as an answer from Kershaw when I asked:
"Thank you for your interest in Kershaw knives. Unfortunately, we have changed software programs several times over the years. We no longer have access to information going back that far. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful."
Here is mine:

Have a great day!
