Good Afternoon All,
I picked up this knife this morning off Craigslist, and have been trying to find some info on it to no avail. It is a Kershaw 1031, doesn't appear to have been sharpened, and is in very good condition, as is the sheath. It doesn't look to be very old, but I can't find any info on it as to mfg dates, list price, steel type, etc. I've took a pic that I will try to post.
I only have two other Kershaws, a Special Agent and a Deer Hunter that I found ay a yard sale's. Any and all info would be appreciated!
Thanks
Dave Welbon

The 1031 is very cool , one of the nicest of the series and discontinued early nineties , I will look up retail and give you some more data soon , have to go to store. Nice find though , I have been collecting Kershaw for over a quarter of a century and I don't have a 1031.

Ok , I am back and I have a little more info, first of all the 1031 may have been discontinued prior to 1986 , they also made a 1031TF that had a rubber handle. The 1031 was called " Camp and Stream" it had a long flexible blade for slicing and camp use 6 1/4 inch blade overall 10 1/2 inches , Handles were phenolic with brass bolsters. Suggested retail in 1982 was $49.95 they will easily bring over $100 in todays market , depending on condition. Blade steel was AUS8.

Thanks for the reply Dave. The description you put on sounds just like the one I picked up today. It has 6 1/4 inch blade, overall 10 1/2 inches, the handles are phenolic with brass bolsters. The brass ends are discolored. Are these solid brass ends? It almost looks like it was plated but I'm not sure. I tried to post a pic but not sure how to do it. Didn't see a spot to add pics to the description.
Thanks again for the help.

Yes they are Brass and will clean up very nicely , if you have a mind to do it. Some people like to leave the patina, I think it really depends on overall condition of the knife. Also I guess since we live about 15 miles apart , maybe I'll get a chance to see it sometime.

The (solid) brass guard & pommel on my 1035 had some "patina" that cleaned up very nicely, using 2000/2500 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and left a very nice, rich polish.

Just a little follow up on the 1031. The Camp & Field was first introduced in 1980 and was discontinued in 1985.
