Recommendation? Kershaw 1375BLK апуопе?

I don't like the black coating (or any coating) on my blades, but that is a preference of course

the real problem with these, imho, is the low end steel they use - 4cr13
it's just not going to hold an edge for long

kershaw started using this on many of their ultra low end knives:
valve, camshaft, airlock, starter, lifter, filter, spoke, grinder, cathode, misdirect

(I will not buy any of these, and they really should be under $10, since that is what competing 4cr13 blades are typically priced at)

When I first heard they were going to make 3cr and 4cr knives I was kind of disappointed. I had a friend who bought one of the Filters because it was cheap, and after a while the tip was broken off. I reground the spine down for them and gave it a good sharpening. It's pleasantly easy to sharpen, and to be honest, while it was not what I'd call great by any measure, edge holding was not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

An enthusiast wouldn't be happy with it, but they are perfect for the kind of user that is going to use it for non knife tasks and abuse it. At the very least the construction is solid.
