Wife surprised me with a Kershaw 1480 Nakamura. Love it. Gorgeous knife, fit and finish are excellent. Zero play. Never carried, never used. But, the pocket clip has been removed. Anyone know a source where I might be able to find one? Any help would be appreciated. Or if anyone has one laying around I’d be glad to take it off your hands.

Cool ! But can't see your pics . You'll have to use a hosting site like https://postimages.org to load pics here .

And Welome to BF !

Here I was about to say "I think you mean Benchmade" but apparently there was such a knife and I somehow never knew of it.

I don't think you're likely to find one listed for sale on a retail website. The last one I can see that has sold was on 5/10 of this year. Leave a post in the "want to buy" section and check auction sites occasionally.

EDIT: I should really fully read posts before I reply. knarfeng has the right idea below, as my suggestion was more geared towards buying a whole new knife.

You could also check out the custom shop listings and see if you can find someone who will just make you a whole new clip.

I'd recommend contacting Kershaw to see what they can do for you.

Have you checked with KAI? The Kershaw website should have warranty info, and even though it's a discontinued knife they might have clips on hand.

(I did the Benchmade double-take, too.)

Thanks for the replies. I’ll try KAI when the holiday weekend is over. Saw the pic link didn’t work. Had internet issues so had to post using iPad rather than laptop and sometimes it doesn’t play nicely with Flickr urls. Service tech just left and I have internet again. Will see if I can get some pics up.

Comeuppance, the last one sold on a retail website was 5/23 I think. At least that’s when Kim says she ordered it from the A. G. Russell consignment site ha ha.

The Kershaw Nakamura has been on my watch list for quite awhile. I'll seen a few on EB and let them pass because the ask was too high IMO given the condition of the knife. So, I'm still looking.

There we go! This knife just spoke to me first time I saw it. Quick snaps with my iPad don't do it justice, looks even better in person. Condition wise I'd call it 9+/10. Very fine scratches on the blade and one bolster, can't see some of them with the naked eye. Knife has obviously not been used. Almost looks like someone tried to polish it and there was sand or something on the cloth. The Mokume bolsters are beautiful, and the grain on the quince wood is really unusual. Blade is VG10 core sandwiched between 420J2. I've seen Rockwell hardness listed at 57-59 and at 59-61. Not sure which is right, but either way pretty dang hard. Factory edge is shaving sharp, so I haven't touched it. Be interesting to see how it sharpens.

Very nice. Congrats on the new knife and on having a gal with excellent taste.

Ha ha thanks. Definitely feel I won the SO lottery second time around. Had her own boat. Can catch reds and specks with anyone. And have seen guys pack up and leave the range when she starts shooting her Mathews. Fun stuff.

Beautiful knife! You might check with Kershaw to see if the vertical screw alignment for the Link and other Kershaws that use the same clip, might fit the Nakamura.

If you can confirm that the Link clip would fit, there’s a whole world of aftermarket Link clips that might be a better aesthetic fit.

Reminds me of an old joke ad:

"Wanted: Female who can clean fish and cook same. Must have boat and motor. Please send photo of boat and motor."

For what it's worth, that's one of those pieces that just look great with no clip. If you can't find one, don't sweat it. Like you said, the Mokume and quince are something to behold, and would almost be insulted to be covered by a clip.

Wonder if someone could brew up a Mokume clip for it... that'd be cool.

Have told that joke myself. Agreed, it’s beautiful without the clip. Would just like to have all the original pieces if I can. And the pocket clip is actually nice looking. Kershaw site says they have free replacements for pocket clips and screws. And their FAQs say the clip that came with your knife is the only one that will fit. Fingers crossed they actually have one.

That is a very nice knife. Congrats!

Struck out with KAI. FYI for anyone that has one of these, they said they show zero replacements parts for it. Waiting to hear from A. G Russell on whether they can get a message to the seller that I'd like to have the clip if they ever stumble upon it. Lost track of how many things I've sold over the years and found small parts for a week later.

looking at the hole pattern...would a current version long Kershaw clip fit? looks like a similar clip is used on the Kershaw Agile...try ordering a replacement clip for one of those to see if it fits. Or if you have a hinderer laying around, they use the same hole pattern & spacing.

A. G. Russell was nice enough to contact the seller for me. Unfortunately, the clip has been removed when he bought it. Somewhere out there is a Kershaw Nakamura pocket clip in search of a knife ha ha! If anyone ever stumbles upon it, let me know.
