Kershaw 1595 torsion bar

They made me send in my 1596 Spec Bump because it was a discontinued model. When I told them that the 1595 Speedbump probably uses the same torsion bar (this thought didn't occur to the 2 people I spoke to) and if they could send one, the response was the same. My Spec Bump was given to me for my birthday in 2007 by an ex-gf who later on passed away from liver cancer in 2009. They had better not mess that knife up.

does anyone knowhow to aquire a replacement torque spring for a 1595 Kershaw Factory cant help

No idea where to get them. If Kershaw has none, then you might need to find an old beater knife and use it for spare parts.

3rd time is a charm. If Kershaw does not have them, they might just not be any available. I have never heard of or seen any company that makes that specific part for any Kershaw knife.

I broke a spring or 2 on my Leek. I called Kershaw CS and they sent me several at no charge. BTW, Kershaw CS is very friendly. Also, the Leek is very simple to disassemble and reassemble. So I never saw it as a problem.

It's been stated many times here that Kershaw's springs are designed to last 10,000 cycles. If you open and close your knife only when you actually use it, the spring will last many years.

Wow, really? The spring "broke", or got really weak (Would only open it halfway or something like that.) on my Kershaw Compound after occasionally flipping it for a few weeks. I don't think I flipped it more than a couple of hundred times. Kershaw sent me new springs, free of charge, though, all the way to Norway.

The 2 people you spoke with probably didn't think about other models that use the same torsion bar because they had a bill of materials that calls out a part number for the torsion bar and they searched their inventory for the part number and saw that there weren't any in stock. It would be useless to search for the same part number any other way, because the result is going to be the same. If you went to an autoparts store and asked for the lug nut for a GMC sierra and they said "I'm sorry we're out of stock" would you ask for the lug nut for a Chevy Silverado instead and expect a different answer? It's the same part for both trucks, if it's out of stock for one model, it's out of stock for all models that use that part.

I wouldn't be too worried about the knife getting messed up, KAI warranty takes good care of the knives that come in for warranty, all the knives I've sent in have been returned in better condition than when I sent them in, even when I just sent them in for sharpening they come back with new hardware and pocket clip, cleaned and lubricated.
