Any hot reviews for the Kershaw 1730 groove, i am most likely going to buy the "Snap On Verson" Red handles for 24 bucks...but what is the story on this knife?

It's a nice knife. It's an RJ Martin design. It's about the same size as his custom Havoc. It's a nice flipper and the action is pretty smooth. I believe they were made with Sandvic 13C26N steel. The striations are supposed to add air into a cut so that materials won't stick to the blade. It's a framelock, but has G-10 overlays. Tip up / Tip down carry. For that price I would snatch it up.

From what Mrs.Tony just said there sounds like a nice knife might look at one or might even just pick one for that price.

I’ve always thought that the Groove was an underrated knife.

It’s a very nice design, good blade shape, nice ergonomics, good looks, good steel, good price.

Great knife. I've found the grooves do help when cutting materials that tend to bind other blades (particularly nylon tubing).

I polished the inside of the handles where the washers meet and it helped smooth it out immensley for me. The blade practically jumps open. I really like the Groove and it gets its time in my pocket just like my sebenza's and customs do.

Hey barrabas74 thanks for the tip. Ive been thinking of getting a Groove.

Its RJs design....it Has to be Good if He Designed It.:D:D

I did the same to mine. My groove is the smoothest frame/liner lock flipper I have ever handled.
