First Post on this forum. Hello!
I picked this knife up open box at a retailer. They couldn't find it in their inventory so they sold it to me for 19.99. When I got home I put in the model number on the side of the blade, google came up zilch! Thanks google.

Maybe you guys can tell me a little bit more about this knife.

Thanks Guys!

Huh... I've never seen that. It's definitely a blackwashed Zing, but the only Zing I knew of being made in China was the SS model. Out of curiosity, is it assisted like the SS model, or manual like the original Zings?

The model is for the Chinese made Zing, not the USA made model. I love the USA made model, the other model I may have to pick up. Just curious if the two would be interchangable. Looks similar but don't want to get my hopes up. That blackwash blade would look really good with orange scales :)

That is really interesting because the Chinese Zing SS, doesn't have scales. Are they G10, because the original USA made scales were FRN. Only a limited number of black tanto zings were made with ranger green G10, other than that they are all FRN, which is the only drawback to the excellent original zings. If that one has a G10 scale I would pick it up.

That model would also be tempting because I believe the Chinese Zings can be deassisted because they have a detent hole, and so people who missed out on the original Zing could get something similar.

Unless Kershaw changed the design of the zing SS, it can not be de-assisted. There is a detent ball, but no hole in the blade. If it had one, mine would get carried much more often...

I thought the same way about FRN until I finally put a Zing my hand. Maybe its the pattern but I really like the feel of the FRN on the Zing. Unless I would be comparing one to another, I not sure I could tell

The knife was a $35 piece, I can't see how G10 would have made the knife any better really. It's a very small pocket knife with decent steel (US version). I prefer good blade steel to anything else.

I just picked this exact same knife at Dicks Sporting Goods for $19.97 as it was mismarked from $24.99 and it was their last one. My question is does anyone know what steel is used on this knife?

I picked one of these up at Dicks today, in case anyone was wondering they do indeed have a detent hole but mine didn't flip very well without the torsion bar. Even with phosphor bronze washers swapped in.
