I bought the new carbon fiber Kershaw skyline in S30V. At first i was very pleased with the fit and finish but I soon started to notice some weird things.
Thing number 1: When the knife is in the closed position and the detent ball is engaged in the blade. I can wiggle inside of the detent. Almost like the place drilled for the detent ball in the blade is more of an oval instead of a circle. I can move the blade towards opening without overcoming the detent and back again.
Thing number 2: I opened the blade up to see what the deal was and I saw not one hole but 2 holes in the blade....? One for the pivot obviously but there was also a random hole that appears to have no function in fact the hole interferes with the detent ball track.
I am confused I have owned 3 skylines and this is the only one I have touched with the detent issue and certainly the random hole in the blade. Is there a purpose for this hole? And as far as the detent any ideas?
